L’allarme troll sembra essere rientrato dalle parti di Endagdet, e anche abbastanza rapidamente. Era solo di questo mercoledì la notizia che il seguitissimo blog tecnologico avesse chiuso ai suoi utenti la possibilità di commentare i post pubblicati.
Già nel corso di questa notte i commenti erano di nuovo disponibili, su tutti i post. Joshua Topolsky, capo editoriale di Engadget, ha semplicemente raccomandato ai suoi tanti lettori di essere “ragionevolmente educati”, nell’esprimere la propria opinione sul blog.
Nei due giorni di “pausa di riflessione” Engadget si è dotato, secondo quanto dichiarato in un post-editoriale di Topolsky, di strumenti in grado di assicurare una moderazione “un po’ più accurata ed efficiente”. Insomma, i disturbatori sono avvertiti. Non saranno più tollerati “attacchi personali contro blogger o altri commentatori, perché degradano la comunità e la qualità delle discussioni”. Parole sante.
